Berdoll Sawmill is seeking to immediately fill full-time positions. Preference will be given to candidates with prior relative industry related experience. More importantly, we are looking for candidates that have a genuine interest in our business and the daily task. Direct experience is not required, on-the-job training will be provided. We are seeking individuals that will take ownership of their department. Individuals successful in their positions can quickly qualify for additional training and advancement.
At this time, we’re currently seeking:
- Woodshop Manager
- Sawmill Operator/Sawmill Manager
Required skills:
- Read and comprehend Understanding Wood by R. Bruce Hoadley
- Basic knowledge of tools/machinery and how to operate them safely
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Team player with the ability to self-manage
- Attention to detail
- Punctual, dependable and honest
- Positive attitude
- Ability to communicate with customers, coworkers and managers
- The desire to complete tasks as efficiently as possible.
- An appreciation and desire for high quality work and take pride in the work you complete
Responsibilities:
- Safely unloading logs from trailers with a forklift
- Stacking lumber and slabs
- Recording daily production totals
- Operating and maintaining sawmill and woodworking equipment
- Ensuring lumber and slabs are properly handled
- Working with a team to process lumber/slabs
- Customer service
