Texas Mesquite Slabs
Our Mesquite slabs are harvested from central and south Texas. We strive to be good stewards of the environment and source the majority of our logs from power line easements, roadway expansions, land clearing projects, and burn piles.
Mesquite is one of the most stable hardwoods in the world, shrinking and expanding very little with fluctuating humidity. Mesquite trees rarely grow with large, straight trunks making wide, long slabs very rare. We mill some of the largest logs in Texas, up to 36” in diameter. We leave the sapwood on our Mesquite slabs. The typical thickness of our mesquite slabs is 2” rough or 1 ¾ surfaced.
