Mesquite Lumber

Our Texas Mesquite logs are salvaged from land clearings in central and south Texas. Texas Mesquite trees rarely grow with large, straight trunks which makes wide, long boards very rare. We remove all sapwood from our Texas Mesquite lumber except for small amounts that will be removed with normal jointing and planing. We grade our Texas Mesquite lumber into 3 grades following NHLA standards (with a few modifications):
  • Select
  • #1 Common
We also segregate boards by length as follows: less than 2 feet, 2-3 feet, 3-4 feet, 4-6 feet, and 6-8 feet. Texas Mesquite is one of the most stable woods in the world. It shrinks and swells very little with fluctuations in humidity. With a dark, rich color, it is the ideal choice for any project including fine furniture, flooring, and cabinets.
